Schuler Shook is seeking a lighting designer to work with our team in Minneapolis. The work will include design and documentation of architectural lighting for a variety of project types, including offices, healthcare, restaurants, hotels, casinos, museums, theatres, places of worship, parks, and exterior landscaping and facades.
Familiarity with evidence-based design and an interest in how light affects human health is a definite plus.

In addition to architectural lighting design, we also provide theater planning services to clients across the country and around the world. Desired background includes:
• BA in lighting, architecture or design-related field, and/or work experience in architectural lighting
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and lighting calculation software such as AGI
• Working knowledge of energy codes and standards
• Fluency in English; good written and verbal communication skills

Our Dallas office is seeking an organized, detail-oriented technical theatre expert with CAD and Revit drafting experience.
You will work with our collaborative team of theatre planners and consultants. You will document everything we work on, from seating layouts to back of house design to technical theatre systems designs. Your tech theatre background will inform your work and allow you to participate more completely in our design studios and discussions. You will have the opportunity for some travel for meetings and site visits. Job location is Dallas.
A background in, or experience with, technical theatre is required. You must have a minimum of 3 years' experience with AutoCAD, 2 years in AutoCAD 2010 or higher. You must be proficient in MS Word and Excel and be able to meet client deadlines. Experience in Revit 2012 and higher is a plus. You must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook and be able to meet client deadlines. Familiarity with Photoshop, Acrobat, and Blue Beam are a plus. We are a client-driven office, so be ready to pitch in beyond the drafting aspects of the job.

We have a position available in our Chicago office for an experienced, motivated Lighting Designer with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for lighting design who will excel in a creative, supportive and collaborative office environment.
Skills and abilities are more important to us than number of years worked, but you will need about 2-3 years of prior Project Design experience. 2 years' experience is required at minimum. You should thrive in a team environment, be energized by working on multiple projects concurrently and meeting project deadlines, and enjoy sharing your strong technical and graphic skills.
You must be able to communicate design ideas visually and verbally, and should be a skilled user of Photoshop, AutoCAD, AGI32, and Acrobat and/or Bluebeam. Experience in Revit is a plus, as is experience with daylighting calculations using AGI32 or DAYSIM.
