We have a position available in our Chicago office for an experienced, motivated Lighting Designer with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for lighting design who will excel in a creative, supportive and collaborative office environment.

You must work effectively as a team member, have excellent design skills, have a strong work ethic, and be able to manage your time and project deadlines well. Skills and abilities are more important to us than number of years worked, but 2 years of strong experience in architectural lighting design are required.

You must be able to communicate design ideas visually and verbally, and should be a skilled user of Photoshop, AutoCAD, AGI32, and Acrobat and/or Bluebeam. Experience in Revit is a plus, as is experience with daylighting calculations using AGI32 or DAYSIM.

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with your ability and experience.

Our Chicago office is seeking an organized, detail-oriented lighting expert with CAD and Revit drafting experience.

You will work with our collaborative team of architectural lighting designers. You will document lighting designs for commercial spaces that range from museums to offices to landscapes to hospitality and healthcare. Your architecture, theatre, or lighting design background will inform your work and allow you to participate more completely in our design studios and discussions. You will have the opportunity for some travel for meetings and site visits.

You must have a minimum of 3 years' experience with AutoCAD with at least 2 years in AutoCAD2010 and higher and 2 years’ experience in Revit 2012 or higher. You must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook and be able to manage multiple tasks to meet client deadlines. Proven expertise with Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu is required. Previous experience with AGI32 or other lighting calculation software is a plus.

We are a client-driven office, so you will be pitching in beyond the drafting aspects of the job. Strong communication and organizational skills, personal initiative, and background in a lighting-related industry are required. This is a full-time position with benefits, 401k, paid vacation, public transit vouchers, and the chance to work in a collaborative, supportive, friendly environment in Chicago’s River North neighborhood.

Salary commensurate with your experience and abilities. Includes opportunities for bonuses.
